Who Is Behind Reental? Eric Sánchez and the Founding Team
Reental is a Spanish platform led by Eric Sánchez Gálvez, a former professional basketball player turned software founder, and it lists four more founders on its team page. It started with a single tokenised flat in 2020 and by 2026 had more than 128 projects across Spain, Latin America, the United States and Dubai. Unlike the US and Dubai platforms, Reental holds no licence of its own, so understanding who runs it and how it is funded matters more. This page sets out what the press and the company have published.

The Founders
Eric Sánchez Gálvez is chief executive and founder, and the only founder the Spanish press names. In an interview with Rankia he described playing professional basketball for more than 15 years while studying engineering, starting his technology career at a firm that built software for other companies, and co-founding Chekin, a guest check-in product for the tourism industry, with two partners in 2017. He studied information technology engineering at UNED, Spain's distance university. Reental's team page lists four more people with the founder label: Fernando Ors, chairman, who leads the Miami office and was described by Brainsre in 2023 as president for the United States and Latin America, Miguel Caballero, global advisor, Javier Ortiz, technology advisor, who an aggregator lists as co-founder and former chief technology officer, and Jackie Aguilar, legal and real estate. Because only the company's own page names them as founders, treat the four as company-stated co-founders. The day-to-day executives are not founders: Carla Castelló is chief operating officer, Victor Merino chief technology officer, and the former basketball players Ferrán Martínez and Luis Scola hold an institutional relations role and an advisory board seat respectively.
Where the Company Came From
Reental began in Sevilla in 2020 with one tokenised apartment, the company's own account on its team page, and scaled from 2021, which is the year Sánchez gave Brainsre as the company's birth. The idea, as he put it to Rankia, was to take the way a few friends might club together for a property and ask what would happen if several hundred people did it instead. The tool for doing that was a token: split a property project into €100 participations and sell them online to anyone, anywhere. The company's own figures trace the growth: €600,000 raised from investors across five properties in 2021, €6 million across 30 properties in 2022 with a Miami office opened that year, €32.5 million in tokenised assets by the end of 2024, and 128 projects and more than $124 million tokenised by October 2026, with investors in over 100 countries.
What They Built and How It Is Regulated
When you invest on Reental you receive membership interests in a Florida series LLC, issued as tokens on Polygon at €100 or $100 each. For Spanish projects the LLC lends the money to a Spanish company through a participative loan, so your return comes from the loan, not from owning the building. The offerings rely on Regulation D for accredited US investors and Regulation S elsewhere. Reental holds no licence: it cites Spain's 2023 securities law for tokenised instruments and has each issuance document reviewed by a CNMV-registered adviser, who certifies the marketing standards rather than the investment. The platform page on Threeworld lists the fees, the exit route and the help pages they come from.
Funding and Milestones
Reental has raised far less outside capital than the US and Dubai platforms, and most of its early rounds were undisclosed. • July 2021: a seed round of undisclosed size. • September 2024: an equity crowdfunding raise on Republic, amount not published. • July 2025: the first Dubai project, two apartments on the 63rd floor of the Burj Khalifa valued at about $7 million, reported by Europa Press. • December 2025: the first tokenised real estate debt issuance under Spain's 2023 law, €322,500 in 3,225 tokens, formalised before the CNMV, reported by iProUP. • July 2026: a $1.7 million round from Akka.app, Monte Bianco NAIF SICAV, Arzalejos Real Estate, Rufinanz and Waycapital, reported by El Español. Forbes España reported 2024 revenue of about €2 million on €32.5 million of tokenised assets, up 130% on 2023, and about 22,000 registered users. The site's claimed 16.44% average annual return on closed projects is a company figure and is not audited.
What to Check Yourself
The most useful outside analysis is a 2023 Xataka piece that walked through the structure and found that investors do not own a share of the property but rights to the returns of the investment, that the promised return is not guaranteed, and that liquidity on the secondary market is provided by Reental itself, which it called the biggest potential risk. Reental's chief operating officer told the same outlet that the property decisions are taken by the company. None of that has changed in the registry's reading of the current offering documents. Threeworld found no CNMV warning, sanction or formal complaint against Reental, and the company's statement that it follows CNMV criteria in Spain and SEC criteria in the United States is its own claim rather than a licence. Before investing, read the issuance document for the specific project: it names the borrowing company, the loan terms and the adviser who reviewed it. The review on Threeworld explains the yield figure, and the liquidity page explains what a platform-run secondary market means for getting out.
Questions people ask
Who founded Reental?
- Reental was founded in Sevilla in 2020 by Eric Sánchez Gálvez, a former professional basketball player and software founder who is its chief executive. The company's team page also names Fernando Ors, Miguel Caballero, Javier Ortiz and Jackie Aguilar as founders, though the press names only Sánchez.
Is Reental regulated?
- No regulator licenses Reental itself. Its offerings are membership interests in a Florida series LLC sold under US Regulation D and Regulation S, and in Spain the LLC lends to a local company through a participative loan. Each issuance document is reviewed by a CNMV-registered adviser, which certifies marketing standards only.
How much has Reental raised?
- Little outside capital compared with its peers: an undisclosed seed in 2021, an undisclosed Republic crowdfunding raise in 2024 and a $1.7 million round in July 2026. Most of its growth has come from investors buying property tokens on the platform, which reached about $124 million tokenised by October 2026.
