About

HoneyBricks let accredited investors put $5,000 or more into apartment buildings that professional managers were already buying. Each deal sat in its own HoneyBricks LLC, which co-invested alongside the manager, and your return came from the building's rent and eventual sale. HoneyBricks itself charged nothing to invest, the manager's own fees inside each deal applied. What set it apart was a secondary market: after a 12-month hold you could post your stake on a bulletin board for other eligible investors, with transfers settled on a blockchain in USDC and no HoneyBricks fee on either side. A sale still needed a willing buyer and both parties had to pass eligibility checks, so it was never guaranteed. On 2 April 2024 EquityMultiple, a larger real estate investing platform, acquired HoneyBricks. The HoneyBricks site now says EquityMultiple manages all HoneyBricks investments and sends new investors there, and the HoneyBricks app no longer responds. Existing investors are serviced by EquityMultiple.
